Wont pay me the $740 i am owed
Rover messed up and wont pay me the $740 for completed work. I need help
I was supposed to be paid $734 for a house sitting job i completed in April.
Rover sent the funds to the wrong account and i did everything i could to make sure that didnt happen in the first place. Even going as far to say i was worried about this happening but they reassured me saying it would work out and i would recieve my pay to the correct account. They went from saying this would be resolved, not to worry and they would make sure i got paid to saying theres nothing they can do to resverse the payment and i should be more careful not to overlook tiny details. ???
I did everything i could to make sure this didnt happen but its my fault??
They said its up to the bank to reverse it but the bank is saying its their responsibility and they still have time to reverse it.
The payment was made through Stripe under 30 days ago so it can still be reversed yet they are saying it cant.
Even the bank said it can still be reversed so why is Rover lying to me? They started ignoring my emails when all i am trying to do is resolve the issue they created and get paid the money i am owed from Rover

Impossible to reach a person. This operation hides behind the on-line wall.
Customer service is a waste of time, no existent, automated, dysfunctional. Negative experience. Lack of privacy. Always demanding more personal information.

Been over 2 weeks no background check received. Never heard back from rover
This is regarding ROVER services for house sitting and dag walkers submitting background check. Maximum ROVER said it would take to approve would be two weeks.
It's been a day over 2 weeks and their excuse is there are too many background checks coming in. NOT MY PROBLEM. I can run a background check and an extensive background check in less than 48 hours. My dad is in law enforcement.
Also I have public information i can get that's available. So don't play stupid with me. You activated and deactivated my profile numerous times during the two week period. Causing confusion.
I have no problem getting my attorney involved. Take an innocent fun loving anxiety free position taking care of animal's which is my career and turning it into pandemonium. Your company is a fraud. You don't give me the option to remove my bank account.
You lost my trust, you don't need my banking information anymore or my debit card.
PissedConsumers! You won't post this. Your going to laugh.
As a matter of fact under this box that I'm writing in it says WELL DONE! talk about sarcasm.

My dog walker cancelled the day of my surgery. I tried to reschedule, but they refunded the money to a card that no longer exists.
We tried changing the card, but had no luck. They said I had to wait 5 to 7 days for my refund. That was all my money. Now, I have no money and no dog walker for the week!
I don't know what I'm going to do!
I'm crushed! You really let me down!
Preferred solution: A reschedule. I’m out for a month because of my surgery. And I really need rover to come through. Because of my money situation I can only pay one week at a time

Verified Buyer |Wrong fee removed
Hey there! I am a user and I was trying to sign up to be a pet sitter and while I was completing my account and I was not done creating my account I just decided to add my card information then when I saw the fees I just deactivated my account from rover but still a 39$ fee was removed from my account for a background check I did not receive and do not need and did not request for!
I no longer want to provide service on rover I deactivated my account and I am unhappy with the service I will please need a refund back! I was not not even done creating my account and this fee is really for no reason I really need help getting a refund.
Wont protect me when a sitter steals from me
My house was ransacked and items were stolen from my house by the pet sitter Derek Bigtree and his girlfriend Isabella Torres. Every drawer, cabinet, closet and jewelry box were ransacked including mydeceased parents memories. I have reported them to the local police and Rover but basically they won’t and can’t do anything about it.REALLY!!!
My experience was HORRIBLE my house was ransacked and i was robbed , my dog was highly neglected left in his kennel, no regular walks and not fed twice a day. need i say more?

hospital visit was paid out of pocket.
I paid the sitter. I have not heard back from anyone.
There has been no follow up as of 6/27/2024, 8:00 am.
As of 2:28 pm on 6/26, I have not heard from anyone following up on the complaint call I made this morning.
- Can be less expensive than petsmart but you get what you pay for
- No true relationship with the sitter in their home setting

Our sitter canceled under 72 hours before watching our dogs because she wanted to collect the entire fee to herself and not pay the fee to Rover. Our dogs were covered in urine and needed emergency grooming when we got home.
Our floors have all buckled from accidents everywhere in our home theres *** all over our custom rugs on our staircase. Our kitchen floors have buckled due to urine. The dog peed down in the kitchen vent so now we need to have a company come and clean the vents out there is urine all in our bedroom. There is *** EVERYWHERE.
Our house SMELLS. Our neighbors said the dogs were howling barking and crying at 6am and they told us last night the dogs appeared neglected. Our neighbor across the street said the same thing. She booked another job AFTER booking with us so we had to PAY our other neighbor to come and feed and let the dogs out.
He said there were MULTIPLE piles of *** all over the first floor which he cleaned up. A few days later our sitter had to work again and we paid our neighbor AGAIN to feed and let them out and when he went inside there were MORE puddles of *** He said the dogs are definitely neglected. While on vacation our sitter texted me asking for my Netflix user name and password which unfortunately and uncomfortably gave her to keep her happy. She texted me that it was a few days she didnt pick up *** in the yard and didnt want to use the *** bags we used so I expressed shipper a pooper scooper.
We came home to *** in the yard and both neighbors yards. We are part of an HOA and we get fined for that. So we came home to having to pick up *** She used our patio out back and anchored and tied up the puppy in the yard while she was outside with her friend and boyfriend, and we found *** all along where the dog was tied up outside, which we had to pick up when we got home as well. She texted me while on vacation asking for an umbrella which I had to explain where it was.
She texted me at night asking me turn to the house temperature up 1 degree. ONE DEGREE! Which I did. She was bossy and super high maintenance BUT neglected our dogs and our home.
Our home is RUINED with dog *** I am disgusted and FURIOUS. I dont think its fair she wanted to cancel through Rover to keep the full amount BUT cause serious damage to our home that WE now have to pay. We paid her $480 then $40 to our neighbor to pick up HER slack and I bought her 2 gifts to say thank you. Gave her my personal account tv information, catered to HER every need and now have thousands of dollars of repairs.
I do not think WE should be financially responsible for HER neglect. I am so sorry to leave so a negative message but I am sickened over this. My poor dogs are a mess. Our beautiful home is ruined with urine.
Floors are buckled over *** puddles just staying on the floor. No homeowner and dog owner should come home from this EVER.

I called last week about a refund I should have received 2 weeks prior. I was assured that I would get a refund in a week and still havent received it!

Verified Reviewer |Rover is engaging in the violation of NYS and US federal statute, Unfair and Deceptive ACts and Practices (UDAP). I booked 19 nights at a rate of $48 nightly and $58 for a holiday night.
Rover charged my credit card for 19 nights at the holiday rate of $58, i.e. $1102 instead of 18 nights at $48 and 1 holiday night of $58.
Upon calling, I was informed that that is indeed Rover's practice. This is illegal and consumers who are not as savvy concerning the law are being duped.
I will never use Rover ever again.

I am horrified that this happened to you and sadly I read similar stories from other pet parents as well, and each time I read a story, I contemplate whether or not I want to be affiliated with their site any longer, I just want to remove my profile! I could never in a million years imagine treating anyone’s pets or home with such disrespect, and I am so sorry that you and your babies had to go through all that!
Please know that not all of us sitters are like that, when I leave a home, I always make sure it is spotless and I make sure the pets keep their same exact routine as they have before I come to sit, I treat them as I would want my pets treated.
The only advice I can give to everyone, is interview a few sitters prior to choosing one, go with your gut instinct, and always have a backup up sitter as well. If someone starts telling you their rules and comes off to be bossy, that is not a good sign, nobody is doing you a favor, it works both ways, it’s a partnership and there are plenty of sitters who would love to sit for your babies!
