As of 2:28 pm on 6/26, I have not heard from anyone following up on the complaint call I made this morning.

Verified ReviewerAWFUL EXPERIENCE AND NEGLECT
Our sitter canceled under 72 hours before watching our dogs because she wanted to collect the entire fee to herself and not pay the fee to Rover. Our dogs were covered in urine and needed emergency grooming when we got home.
Our floors have all buckled from accidents everywhere in our home theres *** all over our custom rugs on our staircase. Our kitchen floors have buckled due to urine. The dog peed down in the kitchen vent so now we need to have a company come and clean the vents out there is urine all in our bedroom. There is *** EVERYWHERE.
Our house SMELLS. Our neighbors said the dogs were howling barking and crying at 6am and they told us last night the dogs appeared neglected. Our neighbor across the street said the same thing. She booked another job AFTER booking with us so we had to PAY our other neighbor to come and feed and let the dogs out.
He said there were MULTIPLE piles of *** all over the first floor which he cleaned up. A few days later our sitter had to work again and we paid our neighbor AGAIN to feed and let them out and when he went inside there were MORE puddles of *** He said the dogs are definitely neglected. While on vacation our sitter texted me asking for my Netflix user name and password which unfortunately and uncomfortably gave her to keep her happy. She texted me that it was a few days she didnt pick up *** in the yard and didnt want to use the *** bags we used so I expressed shipper a pooper scooper.
We came home to *** in the yard and both neighbors yards. We are part of an HOA and we get fined for that. So we came home to having to pick up *** She used our patio out back and anchored and tied up the puppy in the yard while she was outside with her friend and boyfriend, and we found *** all along where the dog was tied up outside, which we had to pick up when we got home as well. She texted me while on vacation asking for an umbrella which I had to explain where it was.
She texted me at night asking me turn to the house temperature up 1 degree. ONE DEGREE! Which I did. She was bossy and super high maintenance BUT neglected our dogs and our home.
Our home is RUINED with dog *** I am disgusted and FURIOUS. I dont think its fair she wanted to cancel through Rover to keep the full amount BUT cause serious damage to our home that WE now have to pay. We paid her $480 then $40 to our neighbor to pick up HER slack and I bought her 2 gifts to say thank you. Gave her my personal account tv information, catered to HER every need and now have thousands of dollars of repairs.
I do not think WE should be financially responsible for HER neglect. I am so sorry to leave so a negative message but I am sickened over this. My poor dogs are a mess. Our beautiful home is ruined with urine.
Floors are buckled over *** puddles just staying on the floor. No homeowner and dog owner should come home from this EVER.

What's wrong?
I have lots of experience with pets and even paid $50 for the background for nothing. What the heck.

Verified Reviewer | New York, New YorkRover is engaging in the violation of NYS and US federal statute, Unfair and Deceptive ACts and Practices (UDAP). I booked 19 nights at a rate of $48 nightly and $58 for a holiday night.
Rover charged my credit card for 19 nights at the holiday rate of $58, i.e. $1102 instead of 18 nights at $48 and 1 holiday night of $58.
Upon calling, I was informed that that is indeed Rover's practice. This is illegal and consumers who are not as savvy concerning the law are being duped.
I will never use Rover ever again.

I had a conflict with Rover, so what did they do besides working out the conflict with me? They cancelled my booking for my dogs and didn't let me or the sitter know.
Pretty unethical action on their part and just downright shameful. This company is also known not to treat their dog boarders very nicely or professionally.

I reached out to Rover customer service for a partial refund as the sitter didn't follow directions in the last day and made it where my cats couldn't use the restroom for 12 hours. It was enough that the sitter couldnt even show up on one of the days i paid for.
They would not do it and said to negotiate with the sitter. So what, if a sitter just didn't show up for three days, I'm supposed to be like "pretty please give me a refund"??
It's pathetic. Customer service is a joke and they apparently have the authority of a kitten according to them.

I was looking into using this service, but after seeing the news about this woman, Gabriella Masak, I am horrified and will never use this service! How can you hire just anyone and accept false reviews just to lure people to leave their loved pets in the care of evil people?
Do some background checks and verifications before you hire just anyone as evil as this monster to care for our precious pets!
People, please do not trust anyone with your pets and DO NOT USE Rover. Read all their complaints and you will see there are many other terrible reviews from other pet owners!

Rover.com is horrible. I left my dogs with a Rover sitter for five days.
She left them alone for 22 hours a day. She only fed them once and my little dog, who passed away shortly after this horrible situation, didn't receive her prescription. The sitter is still working for Rover. Rover just says it's not their problem.
If you look on the internet, there are terrible stories about Rover. Do not use it.

Very disappointed and they ripped me off and I work for them seven years
I work for rover for seven years I took care of dogs of every Breed my experience with dogs is 20+ I also own dogs throughout my life pitbull German shepherd Rottweiler, Chihuahuas, Corso mix, etc. last week a pitbull came to my house we follow Rover guidelines, did meet and greet.
The owner seem nice, so is the dog, but the owner didnt specify to me that her dog didnt like small dogs I was also babysitting my friends dog among other rover dogs from rover My friends dog is small and this pitbull just came and grabbed him by the neck. My mom and I had to fight the pitbull to save him, it was a very terrifying experience.
My mom and I are very traumatized took my friends dog to the vet. The bill was $1700 and rover refuse to pay a penny because my friends dog was not a rover customer I am disappointed frustrated and mad as I make 21 thousand per year and this corporation makes millions and takes advantage of people like me please dont book with rover they don care about their pet sitters and let alone about your dogs it is a terrible company

No one has messaged me yet and I havent recieved a refund nor a cancellation on the background check. I called three days ago to make sure the background check would be cancelled but nothing has happened.

I am horrified that this happened to you and sadly I read similar stories from other pet parents as well, and each time I read a story, I contemplate whether or not I want to be affiliated with their site any longer, I just want to remove my profile! I could never in a million years imagine treating anyone’s pets or home with such disrespect, and I am so sorry that you and your babies had to go through all that!
Please know that not all of us sitters are like that, when I leave a home, I always make sure it is spotless and I make sure the pets keep their same exact routine as they have before I come to sit, I treat them as I would want my pets treated.
The only advice I can give to everyone, is interview a few sitters prior to choosing one, go with your gut instinct, and always have a backup up sitter as well. If someone starts telling you their rules and comes off to be bossy, that is not a good sign, nobody is doing you a favor, it works both ways, it’s a partnership and there are plenty of sitters who would love to sit for your babies!
